1 year old!

It's official...my baby has turned 1 year old. In fact 1 year and 21 minutes ago, we welcomed Logan Marshall into the world. What an amazing year it has been, and of course it has flown by. I hope I was able to cherish every moment, but I'm sure there were some I missed by being "busy". I look forward to this next year of discovery!

Logan's up to 10 words in his vocabulary :) He says: mama, dada, baba, baby, hi, bye-bye, Belle, Nana, Papa, and book. Book is my favorite word he says because he keeps his mouth closed, puffs out his cheeks, and only makes the "k" sound in the back of his throat. I know that no one else would know he was saying "book", but he makes the same noise when we tell him to say "book" and also when he wants to read a book.
Developmentally, Logan is still scooting, but in his walker he's learning to go forward. He's mastered going backward quite well! He pulls himself up when he wants to, but mostly he enjoys scooting all over the house. He throws balls and chases after them. He's gotten pretty good at entertaining himself that way.
Well, those are a few fun facts about Logan. We are having a birthday party for him tomorrow. I'll post pictures eventually! It's a pirate theme and Logan will be a pirate :)

Cute cousins

While Logan and I were up in Phoenix one Friday, Lindsey and I decided to get pictures taken of the boys. They came out so cute! There are 2 more pictures that I already have framed - I forgot to scan them in first and I didn't want to take them off the wall to do so! One is of Logan and Alex laying on their tummies, looking at the camera. The other is a really good picture of all 4 of us.

The birthday ticker

My friend Allison (see her blog - link on my page) always finds the cutest things for her blog. She has a pregnancy countdown on her blog and often changes her blog background. I like to check out the websites she uses and then steal her ideas :) Thanks Allison for always doing the legwork!!!

Logan's new pool

For Logan's birthday (which is June 26th - I can't believe my baby is almost 1 year old!!!), we got Logan a pool and a sand box. We don't have sand, yet, for the sand box, but we set up the pool this afternoon for Logan to play. He loves bathtime, so I was hoping he would also enjoy the pool. He loved it! He splashed and splashed for quite a while (as evidenced by the video). After he was done playing, Belle decided it would be fun to take a dip too.

I know these aren't pool pics, but I love these shots from this morning.

2 more zoo trips

We got year passes to the zoo this spring. We've already gotten our money's worth out of the purchase. 2 weekends ago we met the Zehring's at the zoo. We got there right after the zoo opened, so the animals were just being let into their exhibits and were quite active. Yesterday Logan and I went with my mom to the zoo. I was pretty impressed with some of the shots I was able to get of some of the animals. I won't bore you with all of them, but I've included my faves.

Disneyland!

In the beginning of May, Logan and I went to Southern CA to visit the Chapman's. The last time I saw them was in January when Hayden was in the hospital, so it was nice to go for a fun visit! We went to Disneyland one day. It was such a fun time - especially seeing it all through Logan's eyes. He dozed a couple times, but basically didn't sleep the whole day, but was so happy and content. His favorite ride was It's a Small World. He clapped through the whole thing.

Vanessa met us at Downtown Disney for lunch before we went into the park. It was fun to see her, if only for a few mintues.

The standard pic at the entrance to Disney.

Not a great picture at all, but you can see how much Logan was enthralled with It's a Small World.

Haylee....before going on Splash Mountain. What a cutie!

Stormy....not wanting her picture taken.

Logan as we were leaving Disneyland around 7:30 - after not sleeping all day. Still a happy camper, but definitely wiped out!

Logan crawls....errr....scoots!

I noticed last night that Logan moved forward a little to get to a toy. I was super proud of him, but didn't really want to get my hopes up that he was actually starting to crawl. Before he went to bed, I thought I'd try to see if he would show off his new skills to Justin. With the right motivation (Justin's iPhone), he scooted himself forward until he could reach it. This morning, I got the camera out and recorded this great feat as he scooted over to his toy piano. I'm so proud of my little man :)
