Logan is 2 months old!

Well, Logan turned 2 months old yesterday. With turning 2 months comes the not-so-fun event of vaccinations! Boy was that a miserable experience. Of course it's heartbreaking to watch your child get the shots and scream at the top of their lungs while it's happening, but it doesn't last too long - maybe 30 seconds at the most. The worst part was after we got home. After we left the doctors office, we went to Babies-R-Us. I figured Logan would sleep right through it since he had already been up for 2 hours, which is a really long time for him. Instead he was wide awake and very happy. He was smiling at me constantly and talking away. He fell asleep in the car on the way home, so I put him down in his crib. At this point I'm thinking he'll be one of those kids who isn't really affected by vaccinations. Boy was I wrong!!! When I went to get him up to eat around 1PM, all hell broke loose. He SCREAMED a high-pitched scream that let me know he was not feeling well at all. He refused to eat, too. After a while of both of us crying (him in pain and me feeling like the worst mom in the world for causing the pain), I got him calmed down as he lay on my chest. After he fell asleep I put him back in his crib. He woke up again at 3:30 and ate a little bit, but mostly screamed again. I got him calmed down pretty quickly that time. He slept until about 5:30, when he finally woke up happy and was willing to eat. He was still tired though and just wanted to cuddle. I loved cuddling with him, but it was so sad to see him in such pain. Thankfully, today he is doing much better. He's back to his old self.

Now for the bragging part...Sunday night he slept almost 9 hours!!! He slept from 9:30PM to 6:15AM. What a great night that was! He usually only wakes up once between 4 and 5 to eat, anyway, but it was so nice to get to the point where he can go all night. The last 2 nights he hasn't slept all the way through, but I know, now, that he can do it and that makes this mom VERY happy :)

Lastly, the 2 month statistics are that he is 11 lbs, 1 oz. and he is 22.5 inches long. He is following the 50th percentile curve perfectly.

Mr. Smiles

I got some better, clearer pictures of Logan smiling. In case you noticed and were wondering why many of his pictures all have the same background, it's because he is happiest and the most smiley when he is on his changing table. Maybe it's the fact he's getting a clean diaper, or maybe it has to do with no other distractions - who knows. Anyway, the last picture also shows off his reaching ability.

Another milestone

Logan was 8 weeks old yesterday. He's really starting to reach for things. I wasn't totally convinced that he was hitting things intentionally until last night. We had gone to dinner and on the way home I figured he had fallen asleep since he was silent the whole way home. When I went to get him out of the car I noticed he was wide awake and staring intently at one of the toys dangling from his car seat. His little arm was outstretched - very steadily touching the toy. I had taken these pictures of him playin on his activity mat a few days before when I was excited that he was hitting his toys, but not convinced it was all that intenional!

Fun with daddy

I love this picture of Logan totally enthralled with his daddy!

Smiles

I finally got some photos of Logan smiling. However, when I downloaded them, they were all blurry. Oh well...I'll try again, but I wanted to just show off how cute his smile is. He acts like he wants to laugh too, but no sound is coming out when he opens his mouth really big. He'll get the hang of it soon enough. For now, I can enjoy all the huge, toothless smiles.

A day with the Fam...

After looking through all of my pictures, I realized I only had 2 pictures of the 3 of us. And those 2 pictures weren't that great. So, since my dad (the photographer) was going to be here, I asked him to take a few family pictures. Then we decided to go ahead and take them with everyone - Mom, Dad, and Vanessa. We had a good day with my family. Too bad Tim, Lindsey, and Alex couldn't be here also.
Last weekend we went to Yuma. I took my camera, but didn't end up taking any pictures. I'll have to take more pictures with Rick and Mary when we see them again - preferably here in Tucson since Logan had a rough time sleeping in a new place. He seems to do much better at home. Hopefully he'll grow out of that, though because Justin and I do like to travel!
